What is your razor worth?

This is, of course, the critical question, well maybe.

Firstly, it is hard to provide a definitive answer without more precise details of the particular razor.  As a guide we have shown a couple of styles of razor below with detail of how collectible they may be.

Secondly, many people are not interested in collecting razors, but they are interested in using the heirloom which may have been passed down to them.  The most common razors readily available are likely to be least valuable as a result of their ubiquitous nature – yet they can still be great shavers!

Of course collectibility is only one factor in determining the worth of a razor.  It’s condition is very important.  Collectible razors are usually ranked from ‘user-grade’ through to ‘mint’ depending upon their condition.  There is a significant premium paid for a truly mint razor but any fault or blemish can quickly reduce the value.

The presence or absence of other accessories such as the case, blade banks, instruction sheets, unused blades and even the original external shipper can also affect the worth.  We can factor all these issues into determining a value for your razor.

We have also previously provided a written valuation of razors for insurance purposes.  Valuations are undertaken in accordance with international standards to determine a ‘fair value’ for your item.  Please contact us for more information and a price for the valuation.
